Scripture: Matthew 6:33 – But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.

If you want to know someone’s priorities, watch their actions.  People have a habit of knowing the right things to say, but we truly learn what’s important to people by the decisions they make, not the words they speak.  While one decision isn’t necessarily a reflection of someone’s heart, a pattern of those decisions will show you exactly what’s important to them. So what decisions are you making?  Do your words align with your daily choices? You can say that you want to strengthen your relationship with the Lord, but if you never spend time reading scripture or in prayer, then that’s clearly not a priority.  You can say that someone is important to you, but if you never invest into your relationship with them then your words may say one thing, but your heart is telling a completely different story. We’ve got to learn to prioritize our lives the way God does.  We have to be in alignment with what He sees as important, and then make sure our focus is on those things. Scripture says if we focus on Jesus and seek Him with all our heart, then He will supply our needs.

Question for Reflection: Where’s your focus today? Are you seeking the kingdom of God?  Do your words align with your actions?
